The rapid expansion of the tourism sector — and particularly the growth of accommodation services — has given rise to a range of pressing legal regulatory questions. Chief among these is the challenge of reconciling the protection of consumer rights with the environmental obligations incumbent upon service providers. While many jurisdictions have introduced legislative frameworks governing the ecological responsibility of tourism enterprises, the normative mechanisms through which legal awareness among consumers shapes their choices remain insufficiently developed.
