A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF CRIMES CAUSING UNFAIR COMPETITION
IN THE CRIMINAL LEGISLATION OF CIS COUNTRIES: THE CASES OF
AZERBAIJAN, RUSSIA AND BELARUS
A review of the historical evolution of the concept of “unfair competition” indicates that its earliest origins may be traced to the Roman action Actio servi corrupti, which protected masters against attempts to induce their slaves to disclose trade secrets. Under this mechanism, a person who corrupted a slave and thereby caused harm to the master’s professional interests was required to pay double damages [4, p. 41].
